Town Manager Brian Raducci told the council at the Oct. 10 workshop that his five-year employment agreement began on Oct. 11, 2021, and that one year remained on the term.
"I have every intention of staying," Raducci said, and asked whether the council would like staff and the town attorney to prepare an extension. He added he preferred an open-ended contract, saying it provides operational security without locking the council into a long-term commitment to a specific term.
Council members and staff discussed whether a five-year term or an open-ended contract is preferable. Staff advised that municipalities often set a definite first term for political clarity and that terms can be renegotiated; the council noted an open-ended contract gives the manager security but that future managers could have different terms. There was no formal vote; the council asked staff and the town attorney to draft options and return them for consideration at the next workshop.
