Commission approves five-lot minor subdivision near Harrisonville

The Cass County Commission approved application 3201, a proposal to divide a 38.44-acre parent tract at the Southwest corner of Kercher Road in Harrisonville into five parcels (two roughly 5+ acres, two roughly 9 acres and one about 10.06 acres).
Valerie said the land is currently vacant and that developers will need to extend water mains to serve some lots; she also noted existing cattle operations in the area and reminded potential buyers that they would be moving into a county area with such operations. "They will have to extend the main to get water to some of the tracks," Valerie said.
No public opposition was recorded; the zoning board recommended approval and the commission approved application 3201 by voice vote (3-0). Staff will follow up on utility connections and final platting steps.
