Schwalenberg unanimously elected chair; Lowey chosen vice chair of Calumet County HHS Board
Summary
At the May 11 meeting, Supervisor Schwalenberg was unanimously elected chair and Lowey was elected vice chair. County Administrator Romenesko stepped down prior to Schwalenberg presiding; both elections were uncontested.
Supervisor Schwalenberg was unanimously elected chair of the Calumet County Department of Health and Human Services Board at the board's May 11, 2026 meeting. Hartl nominated Schwalenberg; the minutes record that there were no further nominations and that Schwalenberg was elected without opposition. Romenesko stepped down and Schwalenberg then presided over the meeting.
Connors nominated Lowey for vice chair, and Lowey was likewise elected unanimously. The minutes record both elections as uncontested and do not record roll-call vote counts for those appointments. The actions were recorded in the approved minutes, and Schwalenberg and Lowey will hold the leadership roles until the board's next organizational action or as otherwise provided by board practice.
