Board member (S5) presented the second reading of updated board policies and the board approved the second reading by voice vote. No substantive questions were raised during the item. "We're reading through these here..." a board member said while framing the second reading.
The board also reviewed and adopted an accident-prevention plan prepared by ESD 101 (the cooperative service provider that manages L&I dues and workplace-safety services for the district). The chair (S1) moved to approve the accident-prevention plan and the motion passed by voice vote. Finally, the board took the first reading of the 2025-26 calendar (referred to in the packet as '2526'), proposing to remove Thursday, Aug. 28 for the fair and convert the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to a full day off rather than early release; staff and the teachers association will review professional-development scheduling before the second reading.
