During the board reorganization portion of the meeting, a motion was made and seconded to retain Jake and Steve in their current roles as chair and vice chair. The motion was seconded by Derek and the board voted in favor on a voice vote; the superintendent announced "Motion carries." "It's been moved it's it's been moved that Jake and Steve remain in their current positions as chair and vice chair," the superintendent said as the motion was stated for the record.
Immediately afterward the board moved to open a brief executive session under state law, citing "RCW 42 31 10" and allocating five minutes for the session; staff were told to sign documents and to unlock the front door before departure. No substantive outcome or personnel action was recorded in the minutes during the open portion of the meeting.
