Superintendent updated the board on work tied to the district's lead‑in‑water grant, saying recent repiping routed piping away from two elementary restrooms and those bathrooms temporarily lacked hot water. She said contractors will return next week to connect a recirculation valve and restore hot water.
The superintendent said the project removed lead from the water and also improved the building's plumbing control by adding multiple shutoff locations so maintenance staff can isolate work to the kitchen, east or west wings without shutting the entire building's water. "Well, obviously, the lead's out of the water," the superintendent said, and noted the changes will make future maintenance easier for the custodial staff.
