Superintendent Dan Grabowska told the Roberts School District No. 5 Board of Trustees that strategic-planning discussions and survey summaries project a significant enrollment decline: "it is projected that by 2029 the district will have around 50 students." Grabowska said the district expects the budget for the coming year to be about $100,000 less than the current year and estimated next year's student count at about 56, which he said would make forming grade-level classrooms more difficult. He said continued annual cuts could force consideration of changes in administration. The board recorded these projections and scheduled further planning work to explore staffing and instructional options as enrollment data and budget figures are refined.
