Board members discussed moving from regularly borrowing community equipment to purchasing a tractor for district-use tasks.
The Chair said the district has traditionally borrowed equipment and proposed buying a tractor to expand capability and reduce reliance on borrowed machines: “The other thing is I wanted to talk to you about the potential of buying a tractor.” Staff noted preliminary bids and said the district had budgeted $22,000 for the relevant department; the Chair said he would ask staff (George) to obtain additional bids and that the item would be placed on the April agenda as a formal action item.
Board members also discussed the practicalities of service and repair, recommending solicitation of multiple bids and consideration of local vendors to ease maintenance logistics.
