Superintendent reports staffing gains, SmartBoard plan and community funding for Schuyler Commons units

Superintendent Dan Grabowska told trustees the district is assembling a stronger staff and that student registration is underway. He said digital academy classes are popular but "doesn't feel they have been used in the right way and will work on that," and recommended refinements to how the district deploys digital options.
Grabowska also proposed adding SmartBoards in upstairs classrooms and discussed junior-high sports arrangements, saying eighth-graders will be able to "bump up" to high school teams and that he will contact Red Lodge about options for younger athletes. On local housing, Grabowska announced that the Roberts Community Foundation "agreed to fund the first refusal rights of two of the three units planned for Schuyler Commons" and thanked them; he said the district, given low student counts, is not able at present to commit funding for the third unit.
