Lakefield Police Chief Roger Pohlman told the council that Elan City offered a three‑year warranty renewal for the city’s two Evolis Vision radar signs at a cost of $299 per unit, or $598 annually for both units.
"Cost to renew is $299/radar for a total of $598.00 per year," Chief Pohlman said, noting that the warranty covers support troubleshooting, repairs on all parts and training. He added that without the warranty, diagnostic troubleshooting would cost $468 per unit per incident. The signs were recently installed with county assistance at the north and south ends of Highway 86; the police department remains responsible for updates and calibrations. Council approved the renewal unanimously.
