Van Buren County board votes to terminate recycling-center lease with Sedore, Inc.

The Van Buren County Board of Supervisors authorized a letter to Sedore, Inc. terminating the company’s Sept. 26, 2022 lease to operate the county’s Citizens Convenience & Recycling Center, with the termination set to take effect July 1, 2026. The motion to authorize the chairman to sign the notice passed on a 2–1 vote: Supervisors Waugh and House voted in favor and Chairman Mark Meek voted nay.
The termination was a continuation of discussion from the board’s Sept. 8 meeting. The board did not adopt alternate terms at the Sept. 22 meeting; the action recorded in the minutes is limited to authorizing notice of termination. The board also approved meeting minutes and handled other routine business during the session.
