The Town Council recognized a veteran investigator from the Lantana Police Department for "going above and beyond" in recent operations, including locating stolen property and coordinating complex search efforts. A presenter told the council that the honoree has roughly three decades of law-enforcement experience and described multiple investigations he supervises and quality-control work he performs for the detective bureau.
The presenter credited the sergeant with overseeing detective referrals, coordinating command posts during a missing-person incident that ended with the person located safely, and using the department drone and a search warrant to recover a stolen tractor within hours. "He's the eyes and ears of our investigative bureau," the presenter said. Sergeant James Eddy accepted recognition and thanked staff; the council applauded.
The presentation noted the department's wider efforts to keep violent crime down compared with nearby jurisdictions and called the recognition an example of front-line personnel making a daily difference.
