Auditor's office outlines absentee schedule and satellite sites for Aug. 26 special election

Auditor's Office staff told residents how to cast absentee ballots for the upcoming special election and where to vote in person ahead of Election Day (Aug. 26).
Staff said they would mail over 1,000 absentee ballots the next day and described three satellite in-person absentee locations for precincts 1–22: Aug. 18 at the Carpenters Union on West 19th Street (1–7 p.m.), Aug. 20 at the Sioux City Community Theater, 1401 Riverside Blvd. (1–7 p.m.), and Aug. 23 (9 a.m.–3 p.m.) at a satellite location. Voters may also vote absentee in person at the Auditor's Office; requests to have ballots mailed must be received by Aug. 11. "We'll have them all stuffed and ready...we have our envelopes all ready to go," Auditor's staff said, describing the tight turnaround to print and mail ballots.
