Clerk/Treasurer Melissa Bulger informed the council that a recent Department of Justice mandate requires the town’s website to meet certain ADA accessibility standards. A price quote for CivicPlus software was presented to the council as the town considers options to meet the April 2027 compliance deadline.
Bulger said the deadline provides time to place the expense in the budget. She warned that failure to comply could subject the town to large fines, and she recommended moving the software purchase into upcoming budget planning so the town can meet the mandate without emergency appropriation.
