Council reallocates street-fund money to cover tree work after $9,000 shortfall

Council reviewed an updated quote for 2026 tree work that showed the $9,000 set aside would not cover the full bill. Joel Krause asked whether the town could use unspent street-fund dollars, which became available because the town did not need snow-clearing funds this winter. Clerk/Treasurer Melissa Bulger advised the budget can accommodate the transfer, and the council agreed to use those funds to complete the needed tree work.
The minutes also note that main-street tree work is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026. No contractor name or the final total cost beyond the $9,000 shortfall is recorded in the minutes.
