Middlesex Board delays decision on one-time bonuses for county staff

Assistant County Administrator Ann Marie Ricardi presented options following the General Assembly’s approved one-time 2% bonus for constitutional officers and Compensation Board-funded employees. Ricardi said extending an equivalent 2% to all county employees would cost "about $77,000" from contingency; she offered a flat-pay alternative that would convert the same total to a uniform payment of about "$1,175 per full-time employee," prorated for part-time staff. The Board discussed equity concerns and the timing needed to implement any pay change and did not make a final decision.
Board members agreed to defer the matter to the July regular meeting to allow staff additional time to refine cost estimates and implementation details. No motion to adopt either option was made at the June meeting.
