Detention director: facility held five youths, Minidoka accounts for majority of April bookings

Trent Bodily, Juvenile Detention Director, told the committee the detention facility had five youths in custody on May 12, 2026. "Bodily reported they currently have five inmates in custody, one from Cassia and four from Minidoka," he said, and added that over the prior two weeks the facility saw a high of seven, a low of three, and an average of six.
Bodily provided monthly and year-to-date booking figures: in April there were 46 bookings from Cassia County and 63 from Minidoka County. From January through the meeting date, Cassia recorded 159 admissions and Minidoka recorded 255. The report did not include recommendations for changes to facility capacity or staffing.
Committee members did not record any motions related to detention operations during this meeting.
