School committee approves parking-lot project award, grease-trap contract and youth-service agreements

The Pawtucket School Committee approved several operational contracts on July 28, including a parking-lot improvement award, a grease-trap services contract, and service agreements for student supports.
Colliers Project Leaders representative Patrick Damore recommended awarding the Joseph Jenks Junior High and Agnes Little parking-lot improvement projects to Grama Materials LLC after a low-bid review; the contract amount presented was $590,544.45. Damore said the contractor has capacity to meet the timeline and that the district negotiated a 50/50 cost-share with the city for curb and sidewalk work on Ashton Street and Division Street, including new concrete sidewalks and a crosswalk.
The committee also approved a quarterly grease-trap pumping and cleaning services contract to cover eight schools for $9,843.36 after a vendor selection process that used MPA lists when an RFP received no bids.
Assistant Superintendent Rabbit outlined a Boys Town contract (Title I-funded) that will support Little Elementary and Jenks Middle School with parent engagement and McKinney-Vento services; the contract was described as $100,000 annually. The committee also approved a $20,000 CUNY Bridges contract for supplemental newcomer materials for MLL students.
All motions for the contracts passed on roll-call votes recorded by the clerk.
