Executive Director Trenton Funkhouser updated the board on two delayed restaurant openings, citing regulatory approvals as the cause.
Funkhouser reported that "the Urbanna Seafood and Raw Bar opening was delayed due to a lack of ABC licensing approval" and that The Wooden Pickle's second location in Deltaville was delayed because of Health Department approval related to the existing sewage disposal system. Board members discussed steps the EDA might take to assist the businesses, and Funkhouser said he would contact the ABC agent and the restaurant owners to confirm issues and identify options for support.
The EDA did not take formal action at the meeting but asked staff to pursue outreach to regulators and affected businesses and to report back with any feasible assistance options.
