Commission updates URS Tier 2 public safety employer pickup percentages

The commission approved an updated resolution related to employer pickup of URS Tier 2 public safety retirement contributions. County staff explained that changes in the mix of tier 1 and tier 2 employees alter the contribution percentages and that the net change this year is roughly 0.75 percentage points. "It's a little bit more of kind of a housekeeping thing," one staffer said, noting the county can absorb the cost within its existing budget.
Staff and the sheriff clarified that URS does not require a new resolution but that the county is documenting the updated numbers for county purposes. Commissioners voted to adopt the resolution authorizing the employer pickup as presented.
