The Economic Development Authority heard updates on tourism and marketing at its June 8 meeting as staff rolled out Phase One of revised website pages and reported progress on visitor-facing tools.
Ms. Law said the EDA website revisions include a planned business directory and job boards to promote local employment opportunities and resources. "The revised web pages will also include the business directory and several 'job boards' to promote local employment opportunities and resources available to assist job seekers," she said. She added two digital visitor kiosks were operational before Memorial Day and had been well received.
Ms. Law also described a summer edition of a grant-funded tourism piece titled 'Where the Wild Things Are' that focuses on marine wildlife and family-friendly activities. The EDA encouraged additional content that highlights local businesses and events; Ms. Law said videographer Chad Williams provided 12 hours of footage from recent events and that a Sandy Point Marine Services shoot will be edited and released soon.
