"Code went in on Friday and made them take all the coin operate apparatus out of all their machinery there," one board member said recounting enforcement. Another member argued that a vending machine in a library or a coin-operated pool table in a bar should not automatically be treated as the primary use of a facility and suggested the board review and revise code language to avoid that outcome.
Members asked staff to bring proposed language changes to a future meeting so the board can consider clarifying the definition of primary use and avoid inconsistent enforcement across businesses.
