Town schedules Earth Fest April 18, Clean-Up Day May 16; applies for Small Community Grant

The Conservation Advisory Committee reported Earth Fest will take place on Saturday, April 18 at the Port Crane Fire Department from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a nature hike at Chenango Valley State Park. The Town also scheduled Clean-Up Day for Saturday, May 16, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; electronics will be accepted only at the Highway Department site.
Separately, Judge Dadamio applied for a $30,000 JCAP grant but the Town received $14,000; the board will ask the judge which of three proposed projects should use the funds (updated courtroom cameras, security fobs for secured doors, or improved office air conditioning) because none were budgeted in 2026. The Town also intends to apply for Broome County’s Small Community Grant.
