Councilman Michael Husar told the board he had reviewed current drawings and said the Children’s Home plans consolidate parking into a main lot on the old Hillcrest School playing field and convert surrounding smaller lots into green space. Husar expressed safety concerns for children related to the placement of parking and bus drop-off locations; he noted past proposals that included an exit on Dorothy Street and said this plan appears to keep activity away from Dorothy Street, with the bus turnaround located near Hotchkiss Avenue. The Planning Board will hold an informational session March 18 so residents can review the finalized site layout and voice concerns.
