"The average lawn size is about 8,000 square feet," Julia said, and staff gave the program price as $0.11 per square foot this year. Under the city's cost-share, homeowners pay half the cost and the city will contribute up to $1,000 per property; very large lots may exceed that cap.
Staff walked through the acceptance process: residents will receive an emailed offer with an offer number and an attached agreement. Both the payment and the signed temporary easement/right-of-entry agreement must be returned. Julia reminded attendees the program runs on a first-come, first-served basis, capacity is roughly 80 residential lots, and the acceptance deadline is Monday, Aug. 24 at 5 p.m.
Staff urged residents to check the exhibit and legal description on the easement carefully so the offer matches the correct lot number and address.
