The Council reviewed a memo and five drone photographs documenting drainage problems on the 1st and 2nd Street loop and considered a City Engineer’s $20,000 scope of services for a stormwater feasibility study. Recorder Nicole Tritten said the Council had instructed her to contact the City Engineer for an assessment; Adam Kennedy provided the memo and photos that informed the request. "The Council reviewed the memo written to the CE by Mr. Kennedy, which included five drone photographs," the minutes state.
Guen DiGioia, Climate and Community Resiliency Coordinator with South Willamette Solutions, recommended Lane Council of Governments and the Oregon Community Foundation as potential grant sources to fund the study. Resident Nancy Isham also suggested a potential funding source. The council authorized Recorder Tritten to contact LCOG about grant funding and to consult the City attorney about whether Highway Funds could be used for the feasibility study. Council members also discussed whether the City should assume responsibility for drainage on what may be private roads, an issue that could affect scope and funding.
