Draft wastewater facilities plan sent to DEQ; city expects review by Jan. 6, 2026

City Recorder Nicole Tritten told the council on Oct. 22 that Civil West Engineering submitted the draft Wastewater Facilities Plan (WWFP) to the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) for review on Oct. 13 and that the DEQ acknowledged receipt, with an expected review completion date of Jan. 6, 2026.
Tritten said she, City Operator Bobby Archer and the city’s certified water consultant Max Baker met virtually on Sept. 30 with Clinton Cheyney and Steven Lauterback of Civil West Engineering to discuss the draft plan. Tritten also reported that the city received final reimbursement from DEQ for a Clean Water State Revolving Fund loan: the city has spent the full $100,000 of that forgivable loan and will use American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to cover the remainder of the WWFP project.
Councilors did not take further action at the special meeting; Tritten’s update provided timing and funding status and identified the DEQ review as the next external milestone.
