Associate Superintendent of Instructional Services Leo Perez briefed trustees on the district's preliminary Proposition 28 allocation for the 2024–25 school year and the required community engagement process.
Perez said the District received a preliminary allocation of $618,398 under the Arts and Music in Schools Funding Guarantee and Accountability Act, and that the funds require community input. He reported that school site councils provided input and that the District will submit a waiver to release part of the funds.
The Board approved the Proposition 28 Arts and Music in Schools Funding Annual Report (RES. 25-192). Perez also noted that the program began in 2023–24 as an ongoing state program to support arts instruction.
