The committee set an expectation that directors be ready to defend every dollar and to provide analysis of where savings could be found, including the impact of transferring services to constitutional officers or moving functions in‑house.
The committee also signalled that the August/September workshops will remain open to all commissioners for a committee‑of‑the‑whole approach to deeply review departmental budgets. The meeting then proceeded to other agenda items and was adjourned.
