Catherine, a city staff planner, presented a site-plan amendment request for Discount Tire at 1229 Northwest 86th Street, describing a roughly 900-square-foot addition on the east side, relocation of the dumpster enclosure and partial retaining-wall reconstruction to preserve structural integrity. "They are proposing approximately 900 square feet of building addition to the east side of the building," she said, and noted the project will reduce parking from 30 to 27 spaces but still exceed the ordinance minimum of 22 spaces.
The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval on July 7; Catherine said staff recommended approval subject to coordination on construction staging and engineering details tied to permitting. Council moved, seconded and approved the site-plan amendment by a 5-0 vote.
