Staff reported the bus-shelter program's design and funding are in place and that the procurement package will be prepared and released within approximately one month.
"We're gonna be putting it out to bid within, a month just to prepare the package and, you know, promote it," Leo told the board. Members reiterated the desire for a distinctive North Bay Village design: teal accents, glass panels with an embossed logo and LED lighting components.
Board members noted the shelters are intended not only for function but as artwork. Staff said several options were reviewed and that the selected design (Option A) includes a modern glass shelter with lighting and a branded panel. The project was described as funded and ready for the next procurement steps; staff will return with a formal update at a subsequent meeting.
Board comments touched on nearby municipalities' examples and the importance of unique village branding for wayfinding and safety.
