Roberts School Board approves advertising for an additional elementary teacher

The Roberts School District board voted unanimously to allow the district to advertise for an additional elementary teacher after a request from Superintendent Dan Grabowska.
"We need another elementary teacher which could be funded with Title funds, REAP funds, and the general fund," Grabowska said, arguing that combination classrooms are difficult when there is a gap year between grades and that reintroducing a Pre-K program could help retain families.
Board member Debbie Hill asked how the need would be explained to the public given declining enrollment; Grabowska said funding would draw from several sources beyond the general fund and emphasized student needs. The motion to advertise the position carried unanimously.
