Superintendent Dan Grabowska recommended renewing Skye Mitchell’s paraprofessional contract for the 2025–26 school year; the board approved the renewal with Trustee Debbie Hill casting the lone “no.” The motion passed with a 4–1 tally (YES: Dobbel, Norman, Bertolino, Bissonnette; NO: Hill).
Grabowska told trustees he has talked with two teacher applicants — one certified candidate and one experienced paraprofessional on the Para-to-Teacher path — and that both had other offers. He also said he has "spoken with a company who helps place teachers from the Philippines" but cautioned the timeline: "we probably wouldn't have a placement until October so we would need a long-term substitute until then." Trustees directed the superintendent to continue recruitment and staffing planning.
