Activities committee asks Roberts trustees for Clean-up Day, tree lights, picnic and veterans monument

A Roberts Activities Committee member asked the board to continue a spring Clean-up Day with students, replace the Christmas tree lights, set a Back-to-School picnic date and consider future projects including a veterans monument and more solar panels.
Steve Keebler, speaking as a member of the Roberts Activities Committee (fiscally sponsored by the Roberts Community Foundation), asked the board to allow continued partnership activities between the committee and the school. "The group would like to continue with Clean-up Day in the spring where the students assist the committee with cleaning up the town, would like permission to replace the lights on the Christmas Tree so it is fully lit, and would like a date for a Back to School picnic," Keebler said.
Keebler also outlined future initiatives the committee hopes to pursue in coordination with the district, including installation of a large flag and a veterans monument on school grounds, additional solar panels, and outreach to students about RCF scholarships and community-service ideas. Trustees heard the requests during the public-comment portion and did not take immediate action; several items would require staff coordination and follow-up.
