Staff reported that the development formerly referred to as 7918 is now branded "Tula Residences" and that Vivian Dimond (name spelled variously in the transcript) has taken the lead on the project. Staff said rebar that had been left exposed was laser-blasted and recoated by code so it can be reused, the project obtained an electrical vault resolution with Florida Power & Light and a construction trailer within the permitted building footprint is in place.
"Tula it's now called Tula Residences," Speaker 1 said. Staff added that the developer intends to bring in a tower crane imminently to begin vertical construction and that the first phase could complete by 2026. Staff emphasized the developer must settle prior debts with vendors and address several operational details (sales center location, staging) before ramping up construction.
Commissioners and staff said the village will try to accommodate on-site needs such as a temporary sales center in reserved parking to keep traffic moving on West Drive while construction proceeds.
