Lily, the event coordinator, said the village would rebrand and reschedule its summer event to attract more residents by moving celebrations to July 3 from 6–8 p.m. "We are branding it as our Independence Day celebration ... So we actually are doing it on the July 3, from 6 to 8PM," Lily told the board, noting free barbecue, a band, a waterslide and a dunk tank.
Board members supported the change, noting the long holiday weekend often reduces turnout on July 4. Members made light‑hearted suggestions about dunk‑tank participants and thanked Lily for planning a family‑oriented program. Staff will finalize logistics and promotion.
