The presenter emphasized working with the county and pursuing tax-increment financing rather than simple tax abatement.
On district cash-flow borrowing, the superintendent said last year the district borrowed $3,000,000 and paid about $128,000 in fees and interest. The district issued $2,600,000 this cycle and anticipated approximately $125,000 in fees and interest, noting some savings compared with the prior issuance. Administration also flagged transportation as a concern: the district expects to open with nine regular routes and six special-ed routes and is facing a shortage of type A (30-passenger) buses, leading to reliance on vans and potentially higher costs. Leaders said they will monitor transportation costs and employee settlements closely in coming months.
