Finance report: fund balance up pre-audit, auditors expect recoding
Summary
Officials reported a pre-audit fund-balance increase from $299,000 to $384,000, but auditors have suggested re-coding that may bring the adjusted figure to roughly $250,000; year-to-date expenditures are approximately $370,000 under budget through Sept. 30.

The district's finance report to the board showed improvement in the unaudited fund balance but flagged auditor adjustments that will reduce the final, post-audit total.
Finance staff projected the prior fiscal year '25 fund balance rose from $299,000 to $384,000 on preliminary numbers, but auditors recommended re-coding that staff expects will lower the final number to about $250,000. The superintendent and finance staff said the district is also roughly $370,000 under expenditures through Sept. 30 (about one-quarter through the fiscal year), a trend they will monitor as purchases and obligations materialize.
Board members noted the improvement relative to last fiscal year and the need to track enrollment-driven revenue adjustments; no formal action beyond discussion was required at the meeting.
