Superintendent updated the board on capital projects, saying the indoor air-quality project bid opening is scheduled for Thursday at 2:00 p.m., and SiteLogic expects 5–6 bids across three primary trades. He said bids are being monitored with a target in the low $12 million range and that the district will not sell bonds until bids align with expectations.
The superintendent outlined timing for procurement and bond work: after contractor approval the board may hold a special meeting (potentially Nov. 10) to approve the contractor; once bids and approvals are complete, the district expects to issue bonds and then place approximately a $1,400,000 purchase order for equipment to be procured for use next summer. "We will be issuing the bonds... and then shortly after we receive the money for the bonds, we'd be expected to issue about a $1,400,000 purchase order for all of the equipment that would be used next summer," the superintendent said.
