At a single meeting the Kenyon-Wanamingo School District board approved several governance items meant to set procedures and pay for 2025-26. Board members moved and seconded approval for the restrictive procedures policy, substitute pay rates, and school closure guidelines; each motion carried 7-0.
The school-closure discussion emphasized earlier notification windows: administrators said they will aim to make closure decisions by 6:00 a.m. when possible and provide final closure messages by 8:00 a.m. The board also approved single-reading revisions to policies 4.14 (mandated reporting), 4.18 (drug-free workplace and school), 5.01 (school weapons), 5.15 (protection and privacy of pupil records), 5.16 (student medication/telehealth) and 5.16.5 (overdose medications). Each policy motion was adopted without amendment.
