During the public-safety portion of the Nov. 6 meeting, Mrs. Frock voiced concern about speeding in town, saying the problem is particularly acute on Main Street. The minutes state the Sheriff’s Department has placed a speed trailer on Main Street and that Sgt. Aita said results would be in for the December Council meeting.
Council members briefly discussed the possibility of contracting with private companies that operate speed cameras and issue citations. No motion or contract decision was recorded; the next council meeting in December is expected to include data from the speed-trailer deployment that may inform future enforcement or contracting decisions.
