Trappe confirms lead-line inventory filed with MDE, council asks contractor to propose ARPA-funded follow-up

Town Administrator Erin Braband told the Trappe Town Council on Nov. 6 that “the lead line inventory was completed and submitted to MDE on October 15, 2024.” The council heard that 252 properties are listed as having unknown service-line material, and the town will mail notice letters to those addresses.
Davis, Bowen & Friedel offered to amend its existing contract to continue the inventory and follow-up work using additional American Rescue Plan Act funds; after discussion, council members asked the firm to work with town staff on a contract amendment and bring the draft back for council review. Administrator Braband also scheduled a workshop on Nov. 19 at 4:30 p.m. to discuss allocation of remaining ARPA funds before the Dec. 31 deadline.
The action leaves the town with next steps to approve any amended contract and to review the incoming MDE requirements for properties found to have lead service lines.
