Williams says Wild Trail compressor project will break ground this week; county weighs road upgrades

Representatives from Williams briefed the commission on the Wild Trail compressor station planned off Jug Hollow Road near Dutch John and said the project schedule has been fast‑tracked.
"We are ready to go. So we're actually gonna be breaking ground as of Thursday. We have crews mobilizing and delivering equipment this morning and tomorrow," Christy Stahl, a Williams representative, told the commission. Stahl said construction trailers would be set up around June 10, the maximum construction workforce would be about 65, and Williams expects mechanical completion in February with the facility online by April.
Stahl described proposed county‑road improvements to accommodate construction and longer‑term traffic, including an engineered approach and 4 inches of asphalt to lower maintenance costs. Williams said it has coordinated with Utah DOT and will assist with permitting on adjacent federal (Forest Service) land. Stahl also offered a company point of contact for any community complaints and emphasized crews had been instructed to limit impacts on local camping and access points.
Commissioners welcomed the potential economic activity but asked staff to track road impacts, traffic control needs, and permitting coordination with state and federal agencies before construction expands.
