The council approved a capital-maintenance contract to replace a deteriorated wooden bridge on Hole 3 at Bunker Links Golf Course after staff recommended accepting the low bid.
City staff reported the project was publicly advertised with 13 proposals solicited and two bids received; staff said the low bid was $88,005.94 and recommended awarding the contract to the low bidder. The scope includes removal of the existing structure and installation of a prefabricated fiberglass bridge supported by pile foundations designed for golf-course use and expected to require little maintenance and have a service life exceeding 50 years.
Council members discussed safety concerns around old bridge structures and voted 6-0 to approve the contract. Staff said the company awarded the contract has prior experience replacing a bridge on Hole 15 last year; the staff report contains the bidder’s name and experience details.
