Little League grant for softball field at Home Run Baker Park fails to pass; application deadline looming

The minutes do not provide an explanation for the outcome versus the recorded tally; the vote and the recorded outcome are both preserved here as they appear in the meeting minutes. The Planning Commission and Talbot County Parks and Recreation Board had given favorable recommendations; Commissioner Rose Potter expressed concern to the Council that the application was incomplete and the joint-use agreement was not finalized.
Because the state grant process reimburses costs, Ms. Lewis said the Town would receive funds on a reimbursement basis with an anticipated 30-day turnaround for reimbursement if awarded. The minutes record no further Council direction to submit a revised application prior to the Aug. 21 deadline.
