Trappe council directs RFPs for sewer-camera inspection, new water meters and security upgrades
Summary
After workshop review, the Council asked the town attorney to prepare RFPs for a full sewer-main camera inspection and for replacement water meters with radio-read components; the Council also requested pricing for fencing and cameras at wellhouses, the water tower and the treatment plant and asked staff to consult with GMB and USDA on Phase 2 pumping station ARPA eligibility.
The Trappe Council on Aug. 7 requested competitive solicitations for several infrastructure projects after staff presented cost estimates that exceeded available on-the-spot funding.
Town Administrator Erin Braband presented quotes for a sewer-main camera inspection and for water-meter and radio-read replacements; because of projected costs the Council asked Town Attorney Lyndsey Ryan to prepare RFPs for those projects. The Council also asked Braband to get pricing for fencing and cameras at the town's wellhouses, water tower and treatment plant to bolster security of critical assets.
Separately, Council members discussed using ARPA funds for portions of the Phase 2 pumping station project and instructed Braband and Attorney Ryan to consult with engineering firm GMB and USDA representatives about feasibility and any program restrictions.
