Council confirms certified tax rate unchanged; officials report water system held up during fire

"So the tax rate didn't change from last year. It's still the 0.000828 with revenue of $51,145," Mayor Jenkins said. On water supply, the mayor said a review with nearby mines and maintenance work on valves meant the wells and aquifer held up during heavy pumping: "The water aquifer is healthy," he reported, and he said he would consult with Tyler (the maintenance lead) to provide further details to the council.
Council had no immediate questions about the tax rate; the mayor said the item would remain on the consent agenda for formal action.
