Council approves routine consent items and a $38,400 City Hall renovation contract

Consent items included the sale of two surplus city-owned vacant parcels to named buyers, acceptance of an IHDA home repair and accessibility grant, and approval of warrants. The consent agenda passed 7–0.
For City Hall maintenance (item 25-3031), planning staff recommended awarding the work to Heinz Construction (lowest of four bids) for $38,400 to remove and replace cabinetry, update countertops, electrical and plumbing modifications, new flooring and other renovations. Staff said work would begin on or after Aug. 1 and be completed by November and that funding is available from the city buildings and grounds fund. Council approved the contract 7–0.
