"After evaluating alternatives, staff selected Glock handguns with sights," Hansen said, and noted funding is available in the special enforcement funds.
Council members asked what would happen to the existing weapons; the police chief (speaking in the transcript) said the department would take them back and later present options if council wanted to sell them through a licensed dealer. The staff memo indicated issuance by Nov. 1, 2025 and that sale of existing firearms is expected to offset a portion of the cost. The council approved the bid on roll call.
