Town Administrator Erin Braband told the council that Bearing Construction notified the town the influent bar screen would be rebuilt on-site instead of being sent to Florida for refurbishment, and that the change would not alter the price.
According to the minutes, Administrator Braband said "it will be rebuilt on-site instead with no change in price." Following that update, Councilmember Jeremy Newnam moved "to change the award to Bearing Construction to a Parkson replacement in the amount of $189,451 instead of a refurbishment due to this change and the increased warranty with a new screen versus the onsite refurbishment." Councilmember Walter Chase seconded the motion and it was unanimously approved.
The minutes record the decision and the dollar amount; they do not include a timeline for installation or further warranty details beyond the council’s rationale that a new Parkson unit provides an increased warranty compared with an on-site refurbishment.
